SIW LURÅS, born in Sweden.
Lives and works in Oslo as a printmaker and painter
Educated at the National College of Arts and Crafts, Oslo and University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Lurås has exhibited her work in numerous solo exhibitions in Sweden and Norway including Galleri Kunstverket, Oslo, Norwegian Printmakers Gallery, Oslo, Bohuslän Museum, Uddevalla Sweden, Swedish Printmakers Gallery, Gothenburg. She has also participated at international group exhibitions including the Sixth International Triennial of Graphic Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria (2010), Norwegian Printmakers Galleria Ateneum in Warzaw, Poland (2005), La Biennale destampe Contemporaine de Trois Rivieres in Canada(2007) and Lelocleprints 04, Musee des Beaux- Arts, Le Locle, Switzerland (2004).
Her work is represented in a great number of public collections including Moderna Museet, Stockholm and Swedish Arts Council, Bohuslän Museum, Uddevalla and the County Council for West Sweden.
In 2004 she was awarded the prize for best graphic work at the National Annual Autumn Exhibition, Oslo.
Siw Lurås is an artist who has spent longer periods of her life and work living in London, Rome and Paris. This has been of great importance to her work .
In 2015 her works was exhibited at Summer Exhibition 2015, Royal Academy of Arts, London , Østlandsutstillingen 2015 , Oslo and at Landesbibliotek, Kiel, Germany in 2016. In 2020 her works will be shown at Nordic Contemporary Print Triennial, Sweden and at Kunstverket Gallery Oslo.
